We have some exciting news! Griffeys’ Book Emporium will be operating a pop-up shop at Main Street Delaware’s First Friday event on August 5th. We will have a great selection of used books in a variety of genres, as well as some indie books, merchandise, and a special silent auction for several of our rare book finds!
The silent auction will begin at 6pm, when the event opens, and run until 8pm. We will be auctioning off four books: a rare copy of The Silmarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien featuring illustrations by Ted Naismith, a two-book set of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Book of Lost Tales, and a 1940s copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemmingway. If you’re a Tolkien lore fan, or have one in your life, this is a great opportunity to get your hands on some special volumes, and the Ernest Hemmingway is a great find too!

Please note that we will not be performing book buybacks at the event; if you have books that you wish to sell or donate to us, please contact us so that we can set up another time to receive them.
The event itself takes place from 6pm to 9pm in downtown Delaware. Our booth will be located on Sandusky Street, in front of Typhoon Asian Fusion Bistro and The Greater Gouda shop. and we can’t wait to see you there!
