Fall has arrived, and you know what that means! First, fall is the perfect season to cozy up with a hot mug of tea and a book. Second, spooky season is here! We have a couple of fun events coming up to celebrate, including our Spooky Market, featuring local vendors, makers, and artisans with gifts and goodies for all. Upcoming Events

–Silent Book Club @ Griffeys’. October 9th, 6pm-8pm. We’ve teamed up with Beanbag Books to create a unified Delaware, Ohio chapter of the Silent Book Club! Join us for our first October meeting here at Griffeys’.

–Writing Career Workshop with Jarod and Leslie Anderson. October 11th, 6pm-7pm. Join us on October 11th at 6pm for a panel discussion and Q&A on the business of being a writer with local authors Jarod and Leslie Anderson. Jarod has had success in both self-publishing and traditional publishing. He is the author of Something in the Woods Loves You and hosts The Cryptonaturalist podcast. Leslie is the author of The Unmothers, her debut horror novel.

–Spooky Open Mic Night. October 18th, starting at 6:30pm. Join us for a special spooky edition of our monthly open mic night, just in time for Halloween! Participants are encouraged to share a spooky story, song, or other creative endeavor! Please sign up for a time slot here.

–The Spooky Market. October 19th, 11am-3pm. Shop a selection of local vendors, makers, and artisans inside Griffeys’ Book Emporium! Stay spooky with special, locally made gifts and goodies you won’t find anywhere else.

-Silent Book Club @ Ciao Café. October 20th, 2:00pm-3:30pm. Beanbag Books is hosting our second Silent Book Club meeting at Ciao Café in Downtown Delaware! It’s sure to be a cozy time, so make sure you join us.

-Halloween at Griffeys‘. October 31, 11am-7pm. Trick or treat! Pick up a piece of Halloween candy at the store, plus get 10% off your purchase if you come in costume.

Other Announcements

-New Hours Alert! Due to shifting family obligations (namely an adorable baby who needs lots of care and cuddles) we have decided to change our hours to 11am-7pm Wednesdays through Saturdays going forward. This change allows us to continue to stay open into the evening hours for our customers. Thank you to everyone for your support and understanding, and we hope to see you in the store very soon!

-You can now preorder The Heart of Resistance! Our upcoming steampunk adventure novel The Heart of Resistance is now available for preorder. You can preorder in store or online here! Please note that the book will not be available for pickup or shipping until the release day, which is March 25th, 2025. We would love to get 50 preorders before they close on January 11th, 2025!
