Hello everyone! Unfortunately I missed the updated post for last month due to some unexpected (but very happy) circumstances so I’m trying to get back on my game this month. So without further ado, here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on at Griffeys’ in July!

Upcoming Events

-Silent Book Club. July 11th and July 27th, 6pm-8pm. Just what it sounds like: An introvert-friendly evening of socialization, which mostly involves silently reading a book of your choice in the cozy company of others. Why not join us for one (or both) of these lovely events!

–Book Signing with Frank C. Schutz. July 12th, 6pm-7pm. Local author Frank C. Schutz will be signing copies of his debut fantasy novel The Traveler: Quest for the Twins. Copies of the book will be available at and after the event.

–The Sunshine Market. July 13th, 11am-3pm. Our third market of the year is celebrating all things summer! Come shop a great selection of local vendors, makers, and artisans right here inside Griffeys’ Book Emporium.

–Open Mic Night. July 19th, starting at 6:30pm. Join us once again in sharing your talents with the local community! Just bring a poem, a piece of prose, a song, or other creative endeavor to share. Please sign up for a time slot here if you’re interested.

-Board Game Night. July 26th, 6pm-9pm. Join us for an evening of fun and friendly competition! Bring your favorite game or borrow one of ours. 

Other Announcements

-Returning to the shop. Hi, Aria here! Over the next month I am planning to slowly return to part time work in the shop. Our families have been covering for us while I’ve been at home with the baby, but it’s time to start resuming some of my duties here at Griffeys’ 🙂 So you will definitely be seeing me more in the shop going forward! My schedule is not yet set in stone, so if you need to meet with me for a donation/trade in or consultation regarding a rebinding or repair job, please schedule an appointment via our cal.com profile.
