There’s a lot going on in April at Griffeys’ Book Emporium, and that’s no joke 😉 Check out our monthly roundup of updates, events, and more!
What’s New In Store
-New (and expanded) Philosophy and Psychology section! So many people have come in this year asking if we have a philosophy section, and I always had to point them to one itty-bitty hard-to-find shelf… until now. We have stocked and organized an entire bookcase of philosophy (and some psychology) books for you, so come and check them out!

-Updates to our donation and trade-in policy. After a lot of brainstorming, research, and trial-and-error, we have finally adopted an official donation and trade-in policy. Yes, it’s about time! You can find our new policy here on our website. Please let us know if you have any questions! We can’t wait to help you find a new home for your books (and maybe support your book buying habit with a little store credit 😉 ).
Upcoming Events
-Silent Book Club. April 11th and April 27th, 6pm-8pm. We recently started a Silent Book Club chapter here in Delaware, and we are pleased to announce not one but two meetings for April! Please plan to join us for one (or both) of these introvert-friendly events 🙂

Other Announcements
-Independent Bookstore Day is Saturday, April 27th. Independent Bookstore Day is a nation-wide celebration of indie bookstores, which every store celebrates in their own unique way! This year, we are doing a couple of special events in honor of IBD: our Book Garden painting party with Paint by Ashlea, and a special meeting of our Silent Book Club in honor of the occasion. Plus, we will have a Libro.fm Golden Ticket hidden somewhere in our store this year. The lucky finder of this ticket will get an entire year of audiobooks for FREE from our audiobook partner Libro.fm! Altogether, it’ll be a great day to shop local and support your favorite independent bookstore(s), including Griffeys’! We hope to see you in-store very soon! 🙂

-Book trade-ins and donations needed this month. This month, we are especially looking for donations or trade-ins of classics, Young Adult fiction, and history. If you’re doing some spring cleaning and decluttering, consider putting together a box for us! Make sure you check out our new donation and trade in policy for guidelines. Over 90% of our inventory comes from community donations and trade-ins, so we appreciate you thinking of your local used bookstore first. ❤️
