Hello everyone! March is finally upon us after an extra long February, and this month is shaping up to be jam-packed with great events and more here at Griffeys’ Book Emporium. Here’s what you can expect:

What’s New in Store

-New cards from Gem Garden Arts! We’ve restocked with some fresh new designs from local designer Gem Garden Arts. These cards are made right here in Delaware, Ohio, and many of them feature original artwork or photography by Stephanie of Gem Garden Arts herself! Make sure you come check out all the lovely new designs.

-An exciting update for our Children’s Corner! We recently added this lovely play table to our children’s corner to provide even more interactivity and play for your little ones, hopefully allowing you to browse the store in peace 😉

Upcoming Events

–Book Launch with JPC Allen. March 2nd, 5pm-6pm. Mystery lovers! Join us in celebrating the release of local author JPC Allen’s latest cozy mystery novel A Storm of Doubts. JPC will be reading selections from the book, answering questions, and signing copies here at Griffeys’ Book Emporium! Copies of her books will be available to purchase in-store during and after the event.

–Luck of the Irish Paint Night with Paint by Ashlea. March 8th, 6pm-8pm. Ticketed event. Local artist and instructor Ashlea Oliver will be leading a group in painting an adorable leprechaun, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! You can prebuy tickets for $35 per person here, or they will be $40 at the door.

–Roscommon Sessions Free Concert. March 15th, 7pm-8:30pm. Roscommon Sessions is an amazing local group that plays traditional Irish music. We were graced by their presence at our January open mic night, and they will be performing a full concert set here at the store for free on Friday, March 15th. The perfect way to get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit!

–Open Mic Night. March 22nd, starting at 6:30pm. Join us once again in sharing your talents with the local community! Please sign up for a slot here if you’re interested.

–GBE’s Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt. March 27th, 11:30am-12:30pm. Our previous Easter Egg Hunt was one of my favorite events of the year, and I am so excited to announce that we’re doing it again! This is a great festive activity for kiddos to enjoy during the Delaware City Schools spring break week, and it’s completely free (plus there are prizes in every egg, and a super special Golden Egg for one lucky hunter!) The hunt will begin promptly at 11:30am, and you’re welcome to come a little early and hang out (we will have coloring pages to entertain the kids, and of course there are plenty of books they can look at too!)

–Board Game Night. March 29th, 6pm-10pm. Join us for an evening of fun and friendly competition! Bring your favorite game or borrow one of ours.
