Hello everyone! Here’s our regular monthly round up of what’s happening at Griffeys’ this November:

What’s New In Store:

-Fall and Thanksgiving cards are back! We brought back our fall and Thanksgiving-themed cards from local designer Gem Garden Arts! You can find them on the card rack at the front of the store. Christmas cards will be coming back soon as well. Cards are $4.50 each (less expensive than many you can find at the grocery store) and support not one but TWO Delaware-based businesses!

Upcoming Events:

–Book Signing with Nita Sweeney. November 10th, 6pm-7pm. Join award-winning local author and mental health advocate Nita Sweeney for an encouraging discussion and book signing event here at Griffeys’. Copies of her work will be available for purchase in-store.

-The Gathering Market. November 11th, 11am-7pm. Come and shop a selection of local vendors, makers, and artisans here inside Griffeys’ Book Emporium! It’s a great time to shop small for the holidays.

–Open Mic Night. November 17th, starting at 6:30pm. Join us once again in sharing your talents with the local community! Please sign up for a slot here if you’re interested.

–Black Friday and Small Business Saturday Sale. November 24th and 25th. Shop local this Black Friday weekend with our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sale! Save on books for your friends and family (or yourself!) with two special deals: 10% off ALL books in store OR buy-one-get-one 50% off any book by the same author.

–Board Game Night. November 24th, 6pm-10pm. Join us for an evening of fun and friendly competition! Bring your favorite game or borrow one of ours.

–NaNoWriMo Writer’s Retreat. November 27th, 9am-4pm. It’s National Novel Writing Month! Join us for a cozy writer’s retreat in the bookstore with lots of ambience, writing exercises, and an opportunity to buckle down and crush your goal. Beverages and light refreshments will be provided. Get your tickets here.

-Intermediate D&D Group. Every Wednesday, 7pm-10pm. Join us on Wednesday nights after hours for our Intermediate D&D 5e group! The group operates on a drop in/drop out basis, and we always post recaps of the sessions in our D&D Facebook group. $5 per player.
